Patti Schermerhorn San Antonio Artist

The Frame Gallery Artist Patti Schermerhorn

The Frame Gallery proudly introduces Patti as one of our artist. She is a San Antonio artist who paints many local riverwalk and San Antonio themes.

In her own words she writes: I believe that Life is an adventure in color and that color has no boundaries.... I want people to move beyond normal expectations of what color things “should” be in life & allow color to be a part of, not only the walls within their homes, but also used as a metaphor of splashing color into ones life. I believe color sets a tone, a movement, and creates passion. I also love to add texture to my art work and experiment with different mediums. (I’m the one that always gets tapped on the shoulder in a museum because I want to touch the work). The textures and colors really add to the sensations that are created and this is something that I want to bring to my art work.

My art style is bright & full of texture. I paint in vibrant colors and use my signature mosaic style, in which I outline my work in oil pastels & oil pens because I feel it enhances the colors on the canvas. I paint in a collection of series & am always available for commission pieces.

I have always maintained an art studio in my home & in 2007 I began following my life long dream to be a full time artist. I have always believed that my purpose in life is to touch people’s lives. Now I do this through my art work. It is my hope that it touches your heart and brings color into your life.
